Hello fellow foodies, okiroo here! Today, I’m coming at you from the picturesque city of Gangneung, renowned for its beautiful sea views. While I had traveled to Gangneung Saint Johns Hotel, I was on the prowl for a top-ranked local eatery and ended up having a delightful dinner at Dining Clams.
Dining Clams, located just behind the Saint Johns Hotel, is a renowned eatery, where you can gorge on a variety of fresh seafood dishes at reasonable prices. The spacious parking lot in front of the building makes it an easy stop for anyone traveling by car.
Stepping inside, the decor immediately catches your eye. Surfboards and beach-themed items adorn the place, giving it a laid-back beach shack vibe. It’s as if a surf enthusiast decided to set up a shop right on the surf break.
Now, let’s get to the main course – the food! First off, we ordered a large platter of scallops and a plate of shrimp for 85,000 won. Given the amount and quality of the seafood, I’d say it’s a bargain for such a touristy area. I’d stake my reputation on it – you won’t feel short-changed!
The presentation was nothing short of spectacular. True to its reputation, a variety of fresh shellfish and seafood greeted us, all nicely arranged for a mouth-watering sight. The signature dish, Cheese Bomb Grilled Clams, is a must-try for cheese lovers. Imagine the delicious harmony of fresh clams and chewy cheese in every bite.
The size of the clams may not be gigantic, nor are they extraordinarily fresh or overwhelmingly tasty. However, the generous cheese topping on the scallops and large clams, coupled with the restaurant’s vibe and presentation, made the experience truly memorable.
