Bon-Don is renowned for its black pork, a specialty of Seogwipo. Conveniently situated near the Olle Market, it’s a perfect dining spot for tourists before or after touring the market.
The Charm of Water-Aged Pork in Jeju
At Bon-Don, only the finest pork, raised in Jeju’s pristine environment, is selected for their water-aged dishes. This method involves aging the vacuum-packed meat in cold water, which prevents moisture loss and enhances the flavor. The restaurant also pays great attention to hygiene and provides a comfortable atmosphere.
Crafted by Award-Winning Chefs
The chefs, who have won various cooking competitions, bring their expertise to traditional cooking methods, ensuring a genuinely special taste. Not just the meat, but all the sauces served here are homemade, embodying Bon-Don’s culinary philosophy that aims for guests to enjoy their meat to the fullest. The pride and authenticity in their recipe and pork aging process are palpable.
This means that the guests can experience a deeper and richer taste of the meat. The chef and owner ensure that only the best quality meat, which meets their high standards, is served.
A Menu of Distinct Flavors
The menu at Bon-Don includes various cuts of black pork: black pork belly, black loin, and black neck meat. Prices are reasonable, with black pork belly at 20,000 KRW and black loin at 18,000 KRW. They also offer a selection of limited special cuts, available up to two servings per table.
We ordered black pork belly, black loin, and black neck meat. The side dishes and sauces, including perilla leaves, pickled radish, pink salt, wasabi, ssamjang, garlic, and scallions, were all served neatly.

The water-aged meat looked incredibly fresh, shining with quality that justified the pride. The friendly owner, a professional chef, personally grills the meat, performing an almost show-like routine to cook it perfectly.
The owner’s kindness extends to jokes and explanations throughout the meal, adding to the overall pleasant experience. The meat is grilled along with kimchi and bracken, mingling with the juices to enhance the flavors.
For a true taste of quality meat, a visit to Bon-Don in Jeju is highly recommended to delight your palate.
