The star of the show, the meat, arrives without delay, ready for grilling.

However, for those who relish wrapping their grilled meat in lettuce or perilla leaves, be prepared for a slight disappointment as they are not provided here.

Suwon Wang Galbi, Wonderful Korean BBQ

The main attraction at Cheong Ki Wa is, without a doubt, the beef.

We kicked off our meal with their recommended dish, the Suwon Wang Galbi.

This impressive cut of rib meat, still attached to the bone, is served whole. The staff expertly slices and grills the meat right at your table, providing a perfectly balanced, well-cooked piece of beef.

Their professional grilling skills add an extra layer of enjoyment to the dining experience.

The freshness and quality of the meat are undeniable, and it’s no surprise why it’s so popular. The variety of dipping sauces and side dishes all harmonize wonderfully with the meat, enhancing its flavor.

Bit Sal Ros

Next, we ordered the Bit Sal Ros, the priciest item on the menu, but worth every penny. The texture of the meat is incredibly tender, practically melting in your mouth as soon as you take a bite. While it’s a bit of a splurge, the rich juices that fill your mouth with each chew make it worth the investment. The soft, velvety texture is a stark contrast to the chewy galbi we had earlier.

Last service with Mul Naengmyeon, a cold noodle dish served in a chilled broth

To wrap up the meal, we ordered Mul Naengmyeon, a cold noodle dish served in a chilled broth. This is a must-try when having Korean BBQ in Korea. The noodles, cooked and then chilled in an icy broth, are delightfully chewy. The broth is refreshing, a perfect palate cleanser after the rich, flavorful meat.
